Project: Partaker cinematic theatre

. . .

The project is focused on research and production of an artwork that integrates and orchestrates elements of theatre, cinema and live cinema. Thematically, the play deals with mind and body enhancement technologies and expresses intimate artistic response to its manifestations in various contemporary contexts. The work is based on the decision not to place (actor’s) body on the stage, for to give the main role to images and sounds. It is a story about the body of today without its presence in flesh and blood.

The stage is designed for presentations in theatres or appropriated spaces (black box model), where the computer generated visual material is projected on two separated projection screens placed one behind the other (the front screen is transparent) in complementary relation to musical score. The whole performance is based on the process of image interferences between the screens. The space that separates screens is involved to support the primer goal of research – the expansion of two dimensional moving image representations. As a result, the language of theatre becomes questionable through cinematic syntaxes.
