Workshop by Christiane Wittig Workshop by Christiane Wittig

Art is articulation- is watching- is feeling- is reflection… is it? How are you developing your consciousness? What kind of process is behind all that creative feeling, watching and reflection? How do all these senses interact between each other? Consciousness means: Why am I doing what I am doing and why am I doing how I am doing it…We will try to elaborate the relevant process behind our creative thinking, acting and feeling through discussions and presentations. The objective is to develop the already existing potential in each of us and also to discover new sources of creativity.

Workshop Isadora Workshop Isadora

Creating Interactive Artworks with Isadora: The three-day workshop will focus on creating interactive performance, installation and VJ sets using Isadora a real-time media manipulation tool that has become the software of choice for hundreds of artists worldwide. Taught by Mark Coniglio (creator of Isadora and Artistic Co-Director of multimedia performance group Troika Ranch), the participants will learn to use Isadora’s flexible building blocks to present and manipulate video and sound in real-time. Coniglio will then build upon this knowledge by showing how external sensory systems can allow performers or viewers to interactively control the media with gestures or vocalizations.

All workshop participants will receive a three-month temporary license for the software so that they may continue their exploration after the workshop concludes.

ongoing project

Magenta Room in construction Magenta Room in construction

The aim of the research project is to study advanced examples of mediated architecture and to develop new concepts and models for future integrations of virtual and physical reality in order to enhance our sense of presence. The Magenta Room project will start by studying the original Sound and Light Environments as they have been developed by La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela. The aim is to come up with new proposals to transform the glass corridor on the first floor into a ‘sound and light environment’ with the means of today.

Students who want to participate in this project have to be aware that they will be part of a team. Individual work may indirectly profit from this participation, but the main objective of the project is to offer students the opportunity to excercise collaborative culture in the faculty’s research program by contributing to the study of a theme becoming relevant in the coming years.

Silence project by Christiane Wittig

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

We will start a Project, which I call “silence”
We will think about this theme (brainstorming) together or alone.
We will create an atmosphere where you will have the possibility to work and play with a theme without taking responsibility. In discussing and presenting ideas about silence we will discover more about our creativity and the creativity of the others.

Because inspiration is very often created by playing around.
This seminar should be a kind of assistance to increase your awareness regarding your creativity. Therefore, it is necessary that you actively participate in this seminar by interacting with each other, but also very by formulating the reflections, actions and emotions taking part in yourself.
